About Rachel
Rachel has worked as both a psychologist and educator within the public, private, and Catholic school systems. She has supported young people with learning and behavioural difficulties and helped families navigate the education system to access effective support. Rachel has also spent many years in the not-for-profit sector specialising in trauma, where she has coordinated and delivered both individual and group therapy for children, with a particular focus on creative and expressive therapies. Rachel has a special interest in working alongside First Nations families and communities, drawing on culturally responsive narrative approaches. Through her work in preschools and schools across Western Sydney, and with Gawura School, a First Nations primary school in Sydney’s inner city, she has had the privilege of learning from First Nations' communities. Rachel’s approach is to develop respectful and collaborative partnerships with all her families. Rachel holds a First Class Honours degree in Psychology (Dean’s Award) and completed her dramatherapy training under Dr Joanna Jaaniste of Western Sydney University.
